What Community S2 is
Community S2 is a county-level situational awareness service. It gathers and presents information from public sources — news outlets, government feeds and federal open data — for the county you nominate.
What it is not
It is not emergency services, and it is not advice. Information is presented with its source and its date so you can judge it. Do not rely on it where a delay or an error would cause harm; call the relevant authority instead.
How you use it, and who answers for it
What you do with the information is yours to decide and yours to answer for. Community S2 gathers public information and presents it; it does not direct, advise or supervise what anyone does next. Forward Observer Systems is not responsible for the decisions you make from what you read here, or for what follows from them.
Your use of it must be lawful. By holding an account you agree not to use this website, the service, or anything you take from it for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, surveil, threaten, intimidate or harm any person. That is a condition of membership, not a suggestion: an account used that way will be closed without a refund, and we will comply with valid legal process where the law requires it.
Not an API, not a component of something else
Community S2 is a service you read. It is not an API, a data feed or a licence to the information behind it. A subscription is for your own use, and it does not permit you to scrape the service, extract its data in bulk, or wire it into another product, site, application or service — whether that product is yours, your employer’s, or something you sell on. Automated access of any kind needs our written agreement first.
If you want Community S2 inside something you are building, or across an organisation, that is an enterprise arrangement and we are glad to talk about it. Open a ticket on the support page and tell us what you have in mind.
Your subscription
Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. Your first payment is covered by the 30-day guarantee on our refunds page; after that we do not refund part-periods.
Your account
One person per account. Keep your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has it.
Ending it
You can cancel whenever you like. We may close an account that is used to attack the service or to harm someone.
